Job Summary

We are seeking a Procurement Coordinator for a contract/temporary opportunity in San Bernardino, CA. This role supports food acquisition, vendor coordination, purchasing, and donor relationship management within a mission-driven food services environment.

The Procurement Coordinator will play an important role in helping ensure the consistent sourcing of quality food resources while supporting strong partnerships with vendors, donors, distribution centers, and internal operations teams. Key Responsibilities

- Serve as a primary liaison with product donors, vendors, food industry contacts, store personnel, and distribution centers.
- Develop and maintain strong donor and vendor relationships to support long-term retention and reliable food sourcing.
- Plan and support food acquisition initiatives to increase the quantity, quality, and variety of donated and purchased food resources.
- Create and process purchase orders, obtain bids and quotes, and support RFP and RFQ activities.
- Procure products under grant-funded programs while ensuring compliance with funding source requirements.
- Coordinate with operations staff and member agencies to respond efficiently to unplanned donation opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate procurement activities, including purchase orders, bids, quotes, RFPs, and RFQs.
- Manage donor, vendor, and food industry relationships to support food acquisition goals.
- Support grant-funded purchasing and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Collaborate with operations teams to maintain quality, consistency, and efficient response to donation opportunities.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, vendor coordination, food sourcing, nonprofit operations, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred based on role requirements.
- Experience creating purchase orders and coordinating vendor documentation.
- Ability to evaluate vendors and support responsible stewardship of funds.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships with internal and external partners.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, follow-through, and compliance awareness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in food services, food bank operations, nonprofit procurement, grocery, distribution, or community-based food programs.
- Familiarity with grant-funded purchasing requirements such as CalFood or similar programs.
- Experience supporting donor recognition, vendor retention, or community partnership initiatives.
