A regional medical center in Paducah, Kentucky is seeking a Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour call coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced orthopedic surgeon with strong trauma experience, including hip nailing procedures, to join a collaborative surgical team utilizing Epic EMR.

Schedule: 24-hour call coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
Weekend Coverage: Required

Responsibilities
Provide 24-hour orthopedic call coverage for emergency and inpatient consultations
Evaluate and treat acute orthopedic injuries and trauma cases
Perform operative and non-operative orthopedic procedures as indicated
Manage fractures, dislocations, amputations, bone and joint deformities, and musculoskeletal tumors
Perform hip fracture fixation, including hip nailing procedures (required)
Perform total joint replacement, revision, and repair procedures involving the hip, knee, and shoulder
Perform arthroscopic procedures
Perform spinal surgery, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar procedures with and without instrumentation, as clinically appropriate
Collaborate with emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and rehabilitation teams to provide high-quality patient care
Document all patient encounters using the Epic electronic medical record
Qualifications
Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
Completion of an Orthopedic Surgery fellowship
Active Kentucky medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
Active DEA registration
Current BLS certification
COVID-19 vaccination required
Must have experience performing hip nailing procedures
