It's a community of coffee lovers who never stop exploring the rich and diverse flavors the country has to offer. Each year, we travel all over Guate to find the most amazing beans. We are always searching! These special coffees come in limited quantities and are produced and roasted using methods that enhance the micro climate's unique character and flavor.
As a Barista at Cafecito Social, you'll be more than just a barista; you'll be an ambassador for Guatemalan coffee culture. We're seeking individuals who are passionate about coffee, eager to explore the nuances of various beans and blends, and dedicated to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. We are a small team, which means the person on shift runs the shop.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare specialty coffee and espresso beverages, including latte art (training provided).
- Open or close the cafe on your own, following the opening and closing checklists.
- Learn the cafe's recipes and ingredients well enough to explain the menu to customers.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and storage of equipment and tools.
- Receive deliveries, put them away, and mark them received on the iPad.
- Count and reconcile the cash drawer at open and close.
- Complete the shift log before you leave, not the following day.
- Efficiently multitask to handle customer orders during busy periods.
- Work 6 to 8 hour shifts on weekdays and weekends as needed.

Requirements:
- Passion for coffee and eagerness to learn about Guatemalan coffee beans, blends, and regions.
- Previous experience working in a busy environment with strong multitasking skills.
- Excellent work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Reliability above all. If you cannot work a scheduled shift, you are expected to find your own coverage and tell the owner who is taking it.
- Weekend availability required. Opening shifts start at 6:00am.
- NYC Food Handler's License required. This is not negotiable.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
- Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
